A man and a woman were shot and killed hours apart in separate incidents on 15 July in Alex.
The woman had just arrived from Zimbabwe.

Police spokesperson Captain Allie Kodisang said the man identified by his uncle as Mncedisi Zindela of Nobuhle Hostel was killed shortly after midnight on the corner of 2nd Avenue and Vincent Tshabalala Road.
Police called to the scene found his body with multiple gunshot wounds to the head and body, and already certified dead, lying on the ground.
The woman, who arrived in the country from Zimbabwe a day before, was allegedly accidentally shot in the chest at 4am at an East Bank home. She was identified by her brother as Heaven Siboniso Ncube.

She was in a shack with her brother and two known men who lived on the same street. One of the men was allegedly playing with a gun when a shot rang out. The two men allegedly ran away when they realised that she had been shot.
Paramedics and the police were called and certified her dead on the scene.
No arrests had been made by the time of publication.
