Alexandra Police Station spokesperson, Captain Allie Kodisang, said just over 100 protesters demanded to occupy incomplete flatlets in River Park. He confirmed that the protest action had now died down. Debris can still be seen at the entrance of Alex Mall and on London Road.

Metro police spokesperson, Wayne Minnaar has confirmed and warned motorists to be cautious on the N3 as there is protest action near London Road.
Approximately 45-100 people are protesting about the newly built flats in Alex as they would like to occupy them.
Minnaar said that the situation was under control and that it would be cleared within the hour.
