Alex youth encouraged to join police force

ALEXANDRA – Alex youth urged to apply for police jobs.

 

Alex youth who are wanting a career in the police service are encouraged to apply for entry level positions of constable.

Spokesperson for Alex Police Station, Captain Allie Kodisang said application forms can be fetched at any of the five Joburg North Cluster police stations which comprise Alex, Bramley, Sandringham, Sandton and Midrand.

He said the recruitment is part of the service’s 2017/18 intakes in Gauteng which closes on 4 July.

Suitable candidates should be:

  • Between 18 and 30 years of age. The 30-year-old applicants should have been born after March 1987
  • Without criminal records and visible tattoos
  • Possess the national senior certificate (matric level education). Post matric qualification will be an added advantage
  • Driving licences are not compulsory.

Kodisang said after the submissions, a selection will be done after psychometric test results, medical examinations and physical fitness tests. The recruitment comes after the minister of police, Fikile Mbalula’s recent announcement of re-enlisting retired officers in order to increase capacity in the service.
