Alex police officers are investigating the alleged rape of a 16-year-old girl allegedly at the instigation of her aunt.
Spokesperson for Alex Police Station, Captain Allie Kodisang said the victim was allegedly raped several times at her grandmother’s residence on 15th Avenue where she and the aunt also reside.
The victim’s mother, who resides on 13th Avenue, was alerted by a community member about the aunt conniving with a man who also resides in the same residence to have sex with the teenager in exchange for money.

The teenager told her mother that she had been raped several times by the man and that the aunt had promised her that she would live a good life and be able to buy expensive clothes from money gained from the arrangement.
