Youngsters allegedly assaulted by other youth

ALEXANDRA – Youth allegely hacked on ear with axe in an assault by other youths.

 

Alex police officers are investigating the alleged robbery and hacking of a youth with an axe by six other youths.

At the time of the incident, the victim was with a mate who was also allegedly assaulted.

Spokesperson for Alex Police Station, Captain Allie Kodisang, said the victim and one of the suspects are schoolmates at Minerva Secondary School.

The suspects approached the pair at 7pm on 9 May on 13th Avenue in Alexandra and accused one of them of assaulting their friend. One suspect allegedly slapped the victim while another suspect allegedly hacked his ear with an axe before assaulting the other victim.

The first victim was also allegedly robbed of a cellphone worth R1 000.

It was not specified if the first victim lost his ear or where he was treated.
