Victim robbed in toilet after withdrawing money from mall’s ATM

ALEXANDRA – Robbers follow victim and rob him of R3 500 in mall toilet.

 

A man who withdrew R3 500 from an ATM at the Alex Plaza Mall lost it all to two robbers who allegedly followed him to a public toilet.

Police spokesperson Captain Allie Kodisang said after the withdrawal at 10.30am on 23 April, the suspects allegedly followed the victim to the mall’s public toilet and waited at the entrance. When he came out one suspect allegedly blocked his way and the other pointed a gun at him and demanded the money.

The second suspect searched the victim and then allegedly robbed him of the money he withdrew, a cell phone and bank card. The robbers demanded and were given the bank card’s pin number. Police are investigating the incident.
