6 rape charges

ALEXANDRA - A former soldier who has been charged with the rape of six children will be back in court on 6 June.

 

A rape accused in his 40s was remanded in custody by the Alexandra Regional Court pending further investigation in connection with the rape of six underage girls.

His next court appearance is on 6 June.

The accused, a former military officer allegedly raped the children who knew him and called him uncle at his home in a complex of flats in Alexandra last year. He was arrested at his rural Limpopo home where he sought refuge after the incident was reported to the police.

He is said to have lured the girls with a promise of money and kept them in his dining room while he took each one of them into his bedroom where he allegedly penetrated four without a condom and forced two to perform oral sex on him. Afterwards, he allegedly gave them 50 cents each and released them. He disappeared from the area when he heard police were searching for him.
