Alex police officers attended to 76 reported crimes in the week of 3 to 9 April as well as arrested 63 suspects for crimes ranging from rape and attempted murder.
Spokesperson for Alex Police Station, Captain Allie Kodisang said the report cases were as follows:
- 1 for murder
- 2 for attempted murder
- 6 for rape
- 2 for house robbery
- 3 for housebreaking and theft
- 1 for business robbery
- 4 for business burglary
- 1 for motor vehicle hijacking
- 9 for theft from motor vehicles
- 13 for general theft
- 4 for armed robbery
- 3 for robbery with other forms of weapons
- 10 for malicious damage to property
- 3 for fraud
- 5 for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm
- 9 for common assault.
Arrested suspects as follows:
- 1 for attempted murder
- 4 for rape
- 9 for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm
- 10 for common assault
- 1 for house robbery
- 1 business burglary
- 10 for common robbery
- 6 for shoplifting
- 3 for general theft
- 7 for malicious damage to property
- 11 for drunk driving.
