Alex schoolchildren could make history with the naming of Louis Botha Corridor

ALEXANDRA – Those who attend Pholosho Junior Secondary School could find their proposed name in the history books.

Five Grade 9 schoolchildren of Pholosho Junior Secondary School in Alexandra could soon be in the history books.

This is dependent on whether their proposed name for the Louis Botha development corridor is given a stamp of approval by the City of Johannesburg. This forms part of a naming campaign of the corridor which is currently underway.

The five are Sean Dube, Antisha Sibuwa, Irene Ramoshaba, Zama Nkolisa and Pontso Lebephe.

Members of the public will then have an opportunity to be part of this journey of creating an identity for the corridor of freedom by voting for their preferred name.

A shortlist of names will then be submitted to the City of Johannesburg which will then choose the corridor’s eventual name.
