A suspect is wanted by Alex police officers for the alleged rape of a 16-year-old girl.
The incident happened at about 8.30pm on 12 March at Nobuhle Hostel situated along 8th Avenue.
Spokesperson for Alex Police Station, Lieutenant Allie Kodisang said the victim boarded a taxi to her father’s residence to collect school items when the taxi driver’s male companion told her he loved her.

When the taxi arrived at the hostel, it stopped to let out the suspect. Instead of departing the taxi alone, the suspect allegedly pulled the victim from the vehicle and dragged her into a room at the hostel where he locked the door and ordered her to undress.
When she refused, the suspect allegedly assaulted her until she undressed and allegedly raped her once with a condom. After the alleged rape, the suspect let her go.
Police are investigating the matter.
