Four Alex schoolchildren attending the Mitzvah School in Morningside, Sandton, have made the school proud by scooping first prize at the Fluor company’s Annual Friendly Competition.
The school had been invited to send two teams to participate in the schools’ section of the competition. The challenge was to construct a miniature ball launching structure, using everyday materials such as rulers, pencils, rubber bands, sticky tape etc.
They were judged, not only on successful launches but also on the economy of time and materials, and the two school teams came first and third. The members of the winning team are Nombuyiselo Tshoaedi, Tumelo Mothiba, Tiisetso Kumalo and Kabelo Mojela.
