Alex Police Station is investigating an alleged assault of a woman by her ex-boyfriend.
Spokesperson for the police station, Lieutenant Allie Kodisang said the incident happened at 8.10pm on 2 February.
The victim met the suspect when she was walking home on 9th Avenue with a friend. He asked her where she was coming from and when she told him, he allegedly accused her of lying and slapped her across the face several times.
The suspect then allegedly threatened her not to report the incident to the police or he would kill her. He claimed to be on parole for an offence not specified. The victim nevertheless reported the abuse.
The suspect has not been arrested as yet.
