Calling Alex youth for job opportunities
ALEXANDRA – The African National Congress Youth League invites all youth to an empowerment event.
Alex youth are invited to a youth empowerment event on 3 March at San Kopano Community Centre at 10am.
Penelope Moto of the African National Congress Youth League in Ward 107 said the event would expose the youth to work and other opportunities.
“Many agencies will be there to advise and register them for current placements and future opportunities. The City Council will collect documents and link them with jobs, the National Youth Development Agency will advise them on youth business opportunities, and the Youth Advisory Centre will help them compile a curriculum vitae,” said Moto.
Parents and other age groups are also welcome, regardless of political and other affiliations. “It is for [everyone] in Alex to work together to deal with crime and prostitution by providing our youth with meaningful and gainful opportunities,” said Moto.
Siphokazi Mphahlwana, of the Youth Advisory Centre, advised the youth to bring their academic certificates, identity documents and any reference letters they may have to the event.
