Balaclava ‘rapists’ off to the High Court

ALEXANDRA – Suspected balaclava rapists who terrorised residents await High Court ruling.

The Alexandra Magistrates’ Court transferred two of its cases to the Johannesburg High Court.

The cases involved two armed suspects who concealed their identities by wearing balaclavas while on an alleged raping spree that terrorised Alex residents.

The Alex suspects committed the crimes between 2010 and 2014 at parks and other secluded spots. They were arrested in 2016 after DNA evidence linked them to the crimes.

They preyed on couples at night and the victims were allegedly forced to have sex while the suspects watched. Afterwards, they raped the women without using condoms. They then robbed the victims of their cellphones and other valuables.
