Malibongwe Marley Msiza (21) who was last seen at Tswelopele in Tembisa on 29 October 2016 was found dead at the Germiston mortuary.
Her mother, Roslyn Msiza shared the devastation of finding her daughter dead at the mortuary on 8 February more than three months after she disappeared. She said the family received a call from the Olifaantsfontein police on 8 February informing them that Malibongwe was involved in a car accident not far from the police station on 29 October 2016.
“We were called by the Olifantsfontein police and on arrival, we were told Malibongwe was involved in a car accident. We also knew yesterday (8 February) that all this time they had her cellphone with them, which they say they charged and found her dad’s number, which they used to call us. They referred us to the Germiston morgue where we found her,” she said.
Msiza said they are questioning themselves on why it took the police three months to contact them if they had her phone. “Immediately they found her phone on her that day, the right thing to do was to check for friends and family and inform them. We thank God for their call but feel they could have done better,” she added.
Malibongwe left her Centurion home on 29 October 2016 and told her mother she was going out with friends. She never returned home that night. Her parents asked her friends about her whereabouts and they were told she was seen with her boyfriend. “When we asked the boyfriend, he told us that they went to Tembisa and had a fight. He said Malibongwe took a taxi after the quarrel and that was the last time he saw her,” said her mother.

The family of missing 21-year-old Malibongwe ‘Marley’ Msiza is pleading with the public to help find her after she was last seen at Tswelopele in Tembisa on 29 October last year.
Her mother, Roslyn, said her daughter left their Centurion home wearing an olive combat jacket, black jeans and brown Timberland boots.
According to Rosyln, Msiza said she was going out with friends, but did not provide further details.
Msiza never came home that night and the following day. Her parents went to the local police station to find out whether or not their daughter had been seen by police or got into trouble.
However, the parents left the police station without any information.
“We went and asked her friends and they told us that they last saw her with her boyfriend the day she disappeared. When we asked the boy, he told us that they went to Tembisa and had a fight. He said Malibongwe took a taxi after the quarrel and that was the last time he saw her,” said her mother.
She said they approached Vodacom to try and trace Msiza’s cellphone, however, were told that her sim card was removed from her phone on the same day she disappeared.
“We don’t know what to do now because all her friends also don’t know her whereabouts. If anyone sees her they must please call me or the police.”
