Zulu king appeals for spiritual healing

ALEX – Zulu king visits Alex and urges religious leaders to pray for the nation's morality.

Zulu king Goodwill Zwelithini has urged religious leaders to pray for the nation in order to move citizens away from crime, rape, abuse, as well as drug and substance abuse.

Speaking at the God Never Fails Ministries church in Alex, Zwelithini urged the congregants to be society’s moral compass, “The nation needs prayer to help it heal and for positive change to keep happening.”

He appealed to citizens to be wary of those who misinterpret the scriptures, adding that they misguide and destroy the nation.

He urged children to emulate their parents who, despite living under difficult conditions during apartheid, had acquired a good education. “As a result, many of them are politicians, members of parliament or are in other leadership and professional roles,” he said, adding that schoolchildren should seek spiritual guidance to make them future leaders.

He presented Alex stalwart and philanthropist Linda Twala with a traditional Zulu shield; and Vangile Nhlapo, wife of the church’s founder and bishop Nhlanhla Nhlapo, with a food basket. “Their work improves lives and should be commended.”
