A 36-year-old man who allegedly raped his former girlfriend in October last year was denied bail in the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court.
He allegedly kidnapped the 22-year-old woman and was arrested when the victim’s mother managed to trace her whereabouts by phoning the man’s number.
He allegedly threatened to kill her if she screamed or tried to escape, saying he would kill her like he did his former girlfriend. The 36-year-old suspect, who was recently released on parole, served 16 years of a 20-year sentence for the murder of another girlfriend in 1998.
