Praying for a safer Alex

ALEXANDRA – Residents called to prayer for a crime free 2017.

The Joburg North Police Cluster, formerly Alex Police Cluster which comprises Alexandra, Midrand, Sandringham, Sandton and Bramley police stations, is set to usher in the year with prayer.

This, to summon the spiritual power and collective moral commitment of the police and residents to work together in tackling the crime scourge that afflicts the township.

Alex Police Station chaplain, Captain Chaka Motanyane said the event will be held at 10am to 12am on 26 January at the United Reformed Church situated on the corner of Sam Buti and 5th avenues.

The event is open to everyone keen to pray for a peaceful year free from all social ills and the denial of the rights of residents by criminals. “We ought to act together in prayer and through crime combating to rid ourselves of crimes like child, women, drug abuse and rapes,” said Motanyane.
