Total SA puts smiles on little faces this festive season
ALEXANDRA – Total South Africa sponsors a lavish Christmas party for the children of AAfrika Tikkun's Phuthaditjhaba Centre in 17th Avenue.
Total South Africa literally put smiles on the faces of children at the Afrika Tikkun’s Phuthaditjhaba Centre in 17th Avenue when hundreds of children cheered in joy as a Christmas party for them got underway.
It’s that time of the year again where family and friends shower each other with festive and Christmas gifts in celebration of the year that has been but, unfortunately, not everybody has the privilege to enjoy Christmas because of the circumstances they find themselves in, said Total SA’s sustainable development manager, Nyameka Makonya at the opening celebration.
She said that by sponsoring a party for the Alex children, Total South Africa was playing its part this festive season to give to those less fortunate than others. Makonya said the party for the children at the centre was hosted with the aim of tackling social exclusion, and other related socio-economic anomalies.
“At this time of goodwill and sharing, as Total South Africa, we understand that children are the most important group in our society and not all of them get Christmas gifts at home. We have chosen to partner with Afrika Tikkun, as an NGO that develops young people from cradle to career, to host these Christmas parties at their centres,” said Makonya.
