Big day for little ones

ALEXANDRA – Kgololo Academy hosts a graduation ceremony for its Grade R class.

Graduation Day is always a wonderful day for all involved, but it can also be a sad day when friends separate, as some have, to move on to other schools.

This day finally came for the class of Grade R at the Kgololo Academy in Alexandra when they held their Graduation Day at the school premises at the Methodist Church in 2nd Avenue, just before schools closed for the festive season.

It was a big day for the academy, the parents and, most importantly, the children, as this day marked the beginning of a bigger step in their education and school life.

Asked what sets this academy apart from others in Alex, school office administrator Lesego Phori said, “The school endeavours to broaden the minds of the young ones, as we make use of both the South African and American curriculum when we conduct our classes.”

Mandla Nkosi, one of the parents, praised the work and the academy’s philosophical approach to the education of the children. “They focus mainly on the struggles of the child and, as parents, we are also involved in the development and his or her progress at school on a daily basis as we also have a WhatsApp group to communicate and suggest solutions to complex issues and problems,” said Nkosi.

The children who graduated are Phindile Nkosi, Refilwe Rafapa, Amogelang Malahlela, Keamogetje Pilusa, Nompumelelo Madela, Mahlatse Sedibeng, Callum Masebe, Nelly Chuene, Angel Makaula, Jessica Masebe, Dimpho Mosedame and Letwin Mushai.

Others included, Ofentse Mohale, Ntsako Maluleke, Khumoitsile Koza, Tapiwa Nyathi, Kagiso Mmusi, Siyabonga Kunene, Tshiamo Nkoadi, Rorisang Ratsoana, Bandile Gumede, Jabu Mbatha, Karabo Mhlaba and Basambilu Makondo.
