Alexandra police are investigating three cases of rape, including the rape of young children, that occurred between 25 and 29 October.
Alexandra Police Station spokesperson, Captain Allie Kodisang said a five-year-old child was allegedly raped by a 56-year-old man at the suspect’s home.
The incident happened at 7pm on 25 October. Kodisang said the child’s mother visited friends in the street where the suspect also resided. When the mother was looking for her daughter, she asked another child about her whereabouts. Initially, the child said the daughter was playing outside but afterward, the child asked the mother to come with her.

She allegedly found her daughter naked on a bed in the suspect’s room. The suspect, who was with the daughter, denied doing anything to her but the children alleged that the suspect often abused them sexually without using a condom.
The suspect was arrested and will appear in court soon.
In a second case, police are investigating the alleged rape of an eight-year-old child in a toilet by a wanted suspect at midday on 29 October. Kodisang said the child came home and told her mother that the suspect raped her in a toilet. The child took the mother to the scene of the crime. The mother told the police she found semen on the child’s body.

In another case that is being investigated by the police, a suspect was arrested for allegedly raping the mother of a four-month-old baby. Kodisang said the incident happened late on 29th October at the victim’s home.
The victim was with her sisters when the suspect came to visit their aunt in the same premises. The group then drank beer in the victim’s room. The victim became tired and slept on a bed with her clothes on, leaving the others who were still drinking.
When she woke up, she realised that she was naked and the suspect was allegedly raping her. He was said to have been half-dressed. The victim said she pushed the suspect and he fell off the bed. She screamed, attracting the attention of one of her sisters who was also in the same room.
The sister took the baby while the victim grabbed a broom to hit the suspect before ordering him to leave. The suspect was arrested and is due to appear in court.
