All about the outcome

JOBURG- Meet Margaret Hirsch Woman in Business achiever award winner.

Jaci Tibbit is the 2016 Margaret Hirsch Woman in Business achiever award winner, Mrs Johannesburg 2016, a devoted wife, mother and Christian.

Her life and the building of it has not been a walk in the park as she and her husband, Craig, had to make major changes in their lives.

She started with very humble beginnings in the hotel industry in Natal as a waiter and receptionist, all of this while still studying. Through passion and drive, she ended up as a sales executive and key accounts manager for the group that she was working for at that time. Seven years ago, Tibbit resigned to spend more time with her first child, but because of financial difficulties she had to go back to work. “Working in the hotel industry, the hours can be very harsh and not very family friendly.” And she said that working from home wasn’t even an option.

When she was pregnant with their second son, her husband was promoted and they had to move to Johannesburg from Durban. “The move was quite scary, but we were excited for our new life in the City of Gold, ” said Tibbit. She continued that she wanted a personalised baby on board sign that said ‘Kingsley on board’, which is the name of her son, with a cute picture. She tried to find one, but there was nothing like that on the market and this is how the Jackflash baby on board signs came to be. “The name Jackflash originated from my two beautiful boys.”

Tibbit then expanded and larger companies now stock her brand of personalised products. “It was very intimidating, but I powered through and it paid off.”

On 10 November, a ladies’ networking morning will take place at Hirsch’s Fourways where Tibbit will be the guest speaker. Empowering and impacting woman to believe in themselves and to realise their true potential was one of the major points of Tibbits’ talk.

She said that her whole purpose is to inspire others by telling her story and how she managed to succeed through perseverance, hope and faith.
