Ex-lover burns man’s girlfriend’s pyjamas

ALEXANDRA – Woman smashes phone and burns pyjamas.

Alex police are investigating a case of malicious damage to property of a female complainant by her boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend.

Police spokesperson Captain Allie Kodisang, said the incident happened at about 11pm on 15 November at the boyfriend’s 17th Avenue home.

The 30-year-old victim alleged that she was alone when she was awoken by the suspect who was with a friend. The suspect took two knives from a drawer and gave one to her friend. She took the victim’s cellphone, smashed it on the floor and demanded that the victim take off her pyjamas which she then burnt on a stove.

After that, the suspect took the victim’s other cellphone valued at R600 and left with the friend. No arrests have been made.

A taxi driver is facing a charge of malicious damage to property after allegedly scratching a female complainant’s motor vehicle.

The incident – confirmed by police spokesperson Captain Allie Kodisang – occurred at 9.30pm on 16 November at the 27-year-old complainant’s 5th Avenue dwelling. After she parked her car, the suspect, in a Toyota Quantum, told her to move the vehicle from the spot but she refused saying it wasn’t designated to anyone, then left. She returned later to find her vehicle with a scratch on the bonnet. The total value of the damage was estimated at R500.
