“Everyone knows someone who has been affected by cancer. A few of us participated in Movember for the first time in 2014 to raise funds. Last year, we got on board for just one day and managed to raise R2 500, so this year, we decided that we needed to up the ante,” Morton said.

The team from 21st Century, which is based in Rosebank, pledged to raise R4 000, the team is already on R4 403 and have upped their target to R5 000.

Morton added that the chief executive officer, Chris Blair was also on board and has donated R1 000 to the cause, while the directors of the company have donated a further R1 000. “By raising funds through a company, we can remind each other every single day what we are doing and why we are doing it.

“It is so important to know that you work in a place where people care.”
