JOHANNESBURG – A child in Grade 2, who was forced to remove her shirt at school, will be transferred to another school after the humiliation.

A schoolgirl in Grade 2, who was forced to remove her shirt in front of her class as her mother could not afford the regulation uniform, will be transferred to another school due to the humiliation.

According to reports, the Gauteng Department of Education is investigating the issue.

Acting spokesperson for the department, Oupa Bodibe said that no pupil should be refused entry into a school or be humiliated at school.

The young girl and her mother have received a great deal of support from the general public with the mother’s employer, Sophia Welz, adding that four different people have offered to help the pupil.

According to reports, Welz said they have looked into three possible schools to send the eight-year-old to.
