Toys R Us rewards good deeds

JOBURG – Shining the light a little brighter through good deeds.

 

Toys R Us has launched an exciting and inspiring TRUper competition where 45 schoolchildren across the country will be acknowledged and rewarded for displaying good virtues.

Weekly winners will be announced up until 9 December, after which Toys R Us will crown the ultimate TRUper. Some of the weekly winners so far include Gomotsegang Molefe of Parkview Primary School who was nominated for consistently demonstrating excellent leadership skills and for setting a great example to others.

Simon Matlala, a staff member at the King Edward Preparatory School, is nominated by the schoolchildren for being caring and helpful at all times.

Craig Ncube of Craighall Primary School was awarded for his intrinsic honesty, while Simon Matlala of King Edward Preparatory School was nominated by the schoolchildren for being caring and helpful.

Nathan Sand of Bryanston Primary School, a member of the Cubs and an annual Santa Shoebox project contributor, was nominated for being kind and considerate. Rivonia Primary School’s, Ava O Connor was said to be extremely aware of the environment and consistently contributed towards initiatives to help save the environment and to help those in need.

“The competition recognises and rewards exceptional behaviour and deeds, no matter how large or small these may be, in a bid to emphasise the importance of being a good person,” said Nicole Annells, marketing manager at Toys R Us South Africa.

Craig Ncube of Craighall Primary School is awarded for being an honest pupil.

“It encourages children to make a positive impact in their own little way while allowing their peers to recognise their fine qualities and actions. We hope this initiative will reinforce good behaviour in schools.”

To stand a chance to claim the title of Toys R Us TRUper, the competition invites children to nominate a schoolmate who exhibits exemplary qualities and is recognised as a role model by his or her peers.

Ava O Connor of Rivonia Primary School cares about the environment and helps those in need.

The ultimate TRUper will walk away with the grand prize of a limited edition Playstation video game console.
