Man apparently assaulted for hugging twin sister

ALEXANDRA – Suspects arrested for assaulting a man for apparently hugging twin sister.

Alexandra police are investigating an incident where two men allegedly assaulted a man for apparently hugging his twin sister.

Police spokesperson, Captain Allie Kodisang said the victim, who lives on 10th Avenue, was at a tavern with his brother at about 1.30am on 10 October when their sister arrived and hugged her twin brother. The two suspects, who were also at the tavern and unknown to the victim, apparently reacted to this show of affection by assaulting the victim using beer bottles. This caused injuries to the victim’s forehead and he was taken to the Alexandra Clinic where he received stitches and was discharged.

It was said the assault happened without any provocation. The men were arrested.
