Shot over a beer

ALEXANDRA – Man shot in thigh over beer

An Alex resident is recuperating from being shot in his thigh after a fight at a drinking outlet.

Police spokesperson Captain Allie Kodisang said the incident occurred at a 13th Avenue tavern at about midnight on 14 October.

The victim had been drinking with his cousin when an unknown patron approached them and asked who had drunk his beer. The cousin responded that it wasn’t them, but the victim interjected saying they weren’t talking to him.

The suspect then started assaulting the victim and the cousin intervened. The suspect went away only to return minutes later armed with a gun. Without uttering a word, the suspect shot the victim in the right thigh before walking way. No arrest has been made and police are investigating.
