Man hit by brick, teeth knocked out

ALEXANDRA – Man's teeth knocked out by suspect after accusing him of having an affair with his wife.

A male suspect is under police investigation for assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm after allegedly knocking out a complainant’s teeth with a brick.

The incident, confirmed by Alexandra Police Station’s spokesperson Captain Allie Kodisang, occurred at a tavern in Alex Ext 7 at about 9pm on 9 September.

The complainant was at the tavern drinking beer when his wife entered the tavern and joined her friends seated nearby. The group was later joined by the suspect, who the complainant suspected was having an affair with his wife.

Later, the complaint called the wife and the man aside, but the wife refused to discuss the matter. The complainant is said to have told the suspect to stop what he was doing with his wife. The suspect is alleged to have sworn at the complainant before picking up a brick and hitting him in the mouth with it, knocking out two of his teeth.
