A successful career day at Ikage

ALEXANDRA - Ikage Primary School held a careers day for their Grade 7 classes.

Ikage Primary School held a successful careers day on 16 September in which Grade 7s were asked to come dressed in the dress code of the pupils’ favourite careers.

The school’s Grade 7 classes were dotted with pilots, doctors, firemen and women, police officers, a graduate in a gown and priests in their religious regalia.

School deputy principal, Matshidiso Mokoena said the aim was to instil career-mindedness in pupils as an incentive for them to work hard and perform well in the hope of reaching the goals they set themselves.

“It was a success and the people love it so much that they can’t wait all year long to dress up for the day,” she told Alex News which came across the event when it visited the school to witness a stationery donation by Atlas Finance of Parktown.
