No loving thy neighbour in this case

ALEXANDRA - Neighbour's tormentor faces crimen injuria, assault charges.

An Alex man laid a charge of assault and crimen injuria with the Alex police against a neighbour who lives on the same premises.

The 40-year-old complainant of 14th Avenue had to be treated at the Alexandra Clinic for a bite wound on his finger allegedly inflicted by the neighbour at about 12pm midday on 8 September.

Spokesperson for Alex Police Station, Captain Allie Kodisang said the victim went to the bathroom and when he returned, he found the suspect seating outside with two unknown men drinking beer. The suspect stood up and allegedly pressed his finger against the victim’s forehead and told him that he was stupid. The suspect then allegedly assaulted the victim.

When the victim asked why he was being assaulted, the suspect told his companions that he wanted to hit and kill the victim. When the victim walked away, the accused followed and continued assaulting him before biting his finger.

The two were separated by the suspect’s companions.

The case continues.
