Security guard robbed, hijacked car recovered

ALEXANDRA – Six men wanted for robbing and hijacking security guard.

Alex Police are looking for six male suspects who robbed a 60-year-old security guard and hijacked his work vehicle which was subsequently recovered.

According to Alexandra Police Station spokesperson, Captain Allie Kodisang, the incident happened around midnight on 6 September at the corner of Richard Baloyi and 13th avenues.

The victim, who was inside the parked vehicle while waiting for his colleague, heard a knock on the window. Thinking that it was the colleague, he opened the window and one of the suspects pointed a gun at him and ordered him to unlock the doors. After complying, the suspects entered the vehicle, searched him and took his wedding ring, wristwatch, wallet with undisclosed contents and the vehicle’s keys.

The victim shouted to try and attract his colleague’s attention, but to no avail. However, he managed to escape after sustaining minor bruises on the face and hands inflicted by the suspects.

The victim reported the vehicle as stolen to Tracker who traced and found it abandoned at the corner of Marathon and Freedom Charter streets, Eastbank.

His stolen items have not been recovered.
