Following the successful launch of the 14th installment of the Eskom Business Investment launch in Newtown, the foundation is set to announce the winners next week.
The awards ceremony will take place at the Indaba Hotel in Fourways on 7 September and will see substantial prize money awarded to black-owned small to medium-sized enterprises in the manufacturing, engineering and construction, agriculture and agri-processing, services and trade industries.
The winners will also get a chance to feature in the upcoming Small Business Expo, organised together with Thebe Reed Exhibitions, which will run from 8 to 10 September at the Ticketpro Dome.
Speaking about the business competition was acting chief executive officer of the foundation, Cecil Ramonotse, who explained the foundation’s passion for helping small businesses develop.
“We’ve been actively involved in helping small, medium and micro-sized enterprises grow and [in turn] create employment,” he said.
“The business competition, together with the expo, is one way the foundation uses to recognise and reward the contribution small businesses make to the economy.”
The awards ceremony is expected to start at 7pm and run till late.
