Fingerprints lead 5-year sentence

ALEXANDRA - Fingerprints nab man wanted for 2013 and 2014 house robberies.

An Ivory Park man’s crime spree was nipped in the bud when the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court recently sentenced him to five years in prison for housebreaking in 2013 and 2014.

Kathlego Madisha (29) was linked through fingerprint identification to a housebreaking incident committed in April 2013 at a home in Halfway House in Midrand. He gained entry through the back bathroom window when the homeowner was absent and stole three cellphones and a laptop which were not recovered.

His fingerprints again linked him to another break-in at a Noordwyk residence in Midrand in September 2014 where he also gained entry through a back window when the homeowner was away. He stole one laptop and was arrested at his home in June.
