Unprovoked man allegedly stabs neighbour with screwdriver

A complainant from 11th Avenue laid a charge of assault and attempted murder at Alex Police Station against his neighbour.

No arrest has been made and an investigation is continuing.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant Allie Kodisang said the incident occurred at the complainant’s home at about 11am on 15 July this year. It was alleged the complainant was walking into his driveway when he met and greeted the neighbour who didn’t respond.

After they had passed each other, the neighbour turned around and allegedly stabbed the complainant in the back with a screwdriver. The complainant fell down and the neighbour is said to have stabbed him six more times before walking away without saying a thing, leaving the complainant in a pool of blood.

He was taken to the Alex Clinic for treatment.
