Fingerprints nab housebreaker

ALEXANDRA - Fingerprints help nab Midrand serial housebreaker...

An Ivory Park man’s criminal ways have been curbed after Alexandra Magistrates’ Court sentenced him to five years in prison for two housebreaking incidents he committed in 2013 and 2014.

Kathlego Madisha (29) was linked to the crimes through fingerprint identification. He committed the first housebreaking in April 2013 at a home in Halfway House, Midrand, when the homeowner was away. Madisha gained entry through the back bathroom window and stole three cellphones and a laptop which were never recovered.

In September 2014, he broke into a Noordwyk residence in Midrand and also gained entry through a back window while the homeowner was away. Madisha stole one laptop which was never recovered.

The suspect was arrested at his home in June after his fingerprints linked him to the crimes and police officers tracked him down.
