Boyfriend accused of assaulting son

ALEXANDRA – Mom and son flee from angry, 'disrespected' boyfriend.

A woman has laid a charge of assault at Alex Police Station against her boyfriend.

She alleged that the accused assaulted her 16-year-old son and also threatened to beat both of them with a sjambok attempted to hit whip her at their home at Bohlabela Flats at about 7.30pm on 17 July this year.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant Allie Kodisang said after the son arrived home, the accused closed and locked the door. He then accused the boy of not respecting him and allegedly took away his cellphone before slapping him across the face.

When the accused reached for the sjambok they bolted and ran to the police station to open a case.

The investigation continues and it’s unknown whether they have since returned home or if the accused has been arrested. The case continues.
