Meet Sarah Graham: Joburg resident and award-winning chef

WIN: Tickets to the Good Food and Wine Show 2016.

South African beauty and prime-time cooking show host, Sarah Graham, will discuss all things food and work at this year’s Good Food and Wine Show, as well as give away some of her recipes and cooking secrets.

Graham burst onto South Africa’s TV screens in 2013 with her show, Sarah Graham Cooks Cape Town, after the success of her exciting foodie blog, A Foodie Lives Here.

Now a Johannesburg resident, the foodie and homemaker hosts the Sarah Graham’s Food Safari TV show.

When asked about attending the popular foodie event taking place from 29 to 31 July at the TicketPro Dome, Graham said, “I’m excited to share some of my favourite recipes with audiences. They are all full of colour and flavour, and nearly all of them are super healthy too.

“Two examples [of recipes comprise] my Asian Satay Rice Paper Rolls which are perfect for speedy snacking or entertaining, and my gluten and refined sugar-free Millionaire’s Shortbread Tart which is a current favourite.”

The culinary whizz has made quite a name for herself in the industry, but is not content to just reap the rewards of her current success and is keen to take on various projects in the near future. “I am happy to keep moving forward as I love what I do. I’m excited about filming my upcoming series of Sarah Graham’s Food Safari later this year, and for the launch of my new book in early 2017.”

Evidently kept busy with a few current projects, Graham is not happy to settle with quick food fixes and aims to keep her new recipes healthy and nutritious. “I am particularly focused on healthy foods that are largely refined sugar- and refined carbohydrate-free at the moment, and I get so excited about seeing people respond to recipes that are full of goodness.”

Working with her culinary inspirations makes for great work, but with an ever-evolving list of favourite chefs she would like to work with in future, fans could possibly see a few interesting collaborations. “Locally, I’ve been so inspired working with the likes of Franck Dangereus from The Food Barn in Noordhoek; and Bertus Basson of Overture, and I learnt so much from each of them. I’d love to collaborate with Siba on something fun.”
