Captain Ali Kodisang, spokesperson for Alexandra Police Station has urged members of the public to come forward and report crimes.
This comes after, Candice McLaren Lewis from Boksburg took to Facebook after an alleged attempted rape and hijacking incident which took place in Alexandra.
Kodisang said the best thing to do in such a case is for the victim to come forward and report the incident. “Give us an opportunity to investigate,” Kodisang added.
“Tomorrow it could be someone else when we could have possibly caught the culprit. Keeping quiet does not help.”
He concluded by saying that coming forward also helps the police understand the extent of crime in their area.
