Men await trial for house robbery

ALEXANDRA – Men await trial for house robbery, items recovered.

Two men, one from Alex and the other Soweto, were remanded in custody by the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court for a house robbery on 27 May this year in Parkmore.

They will be back in court on 4 July after investigations have been concluded.

They allegedly broke into the home in the early hours on the day and stole a MacBook (laptop) and Samsung monitor which were recovered.

The homeowner who had locked and secured the doors and windows that night heard one of the windows being broken. She locked her children in her bedroom before pressing a panic button. Security company guards responded to the scene but the suspects had already fled.

Meanwhile, police from Gallo Manor had also responded to the scene. They came across two men walking nearby, one with a bag. They stopped the men and searched them and found the laptop which the suspects failed to prove ownership of. They were arrested and the monitor was also recovered after the suspects admitted to the robbery and showed the police where they had hidden it.
