The body of a 48-year-old man was found inside his shack in 8th Avenue with a gaping wound on his forehead.
Alexandra Police Station spokesperson Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela said the man was found in a kneeling position inside the shack. He said it was understood the man had a quarrel with another man and was suspected to have been shot during this altercation, managed to walk back to his shack and collapsed.
The name of the deceased, who is said to have been identified by his younger brother, is known to this newspaper, including that of the alleged perpetrator.
Maphakela said two suspects have been arrested in connection with this incident and that police were still looking for three other suspects who are still at large. He appealed to members of the community who might have information to come forward or call anonymously and provide the police with leads.
