Flabba murderer’s 12-year sentence starts

ALEXANDRA - Musician Flabba's murderer starts 12-year sentence after failed leave to appeal.

Flabba’s murder accused and girlfriend, Sindisiwe Manqele who was 25 years old at the time of the incident, started her 12-year sentence on 24 May after she lost her appeal at the South Gauteng High Court, Palm Ridge.

Judge Solly Sithole denied her application for leave to appeal the sentence for the murder, on 9 March last year, of the Alex-born musician whose real name was Nkululeko Habedi.

Manqele, who was out on R10 000 bail, failed in her appeal after she pleaded guilty to the murder. Her legal representatives argued that she acted in self-defence in response to a brutal attack by the deceased.
