Retailer cares for Ratang Bana children in Alex

ALEXANDRA - Shoprite shows its caring side for the children of Ratang Bana by baking sweet treats for them.

World Baking Day on 17 May will see community members performing acts of kindness and paying it forward by baking cakes for the less fortunate, and Shoprite, one of Africa’s largest food retailers, joined in on the sharing.

Shoprite has already given back to the community when one of its stores located in Plaza Mall in Alexandra, surprised the staff and children of Ratang Bana Foundation, an organisation which assists child-headed households, with two cakes as an act of kindness and to remind them that the group cares.

Both Shoprite and Checkers are challenging the community to pay it forward by baking a cake or other sweet treats and sharing it with those less fortunate.
