CHOC receives generous donation

JOBURG – Gynaecologists give back in a big way.

Childhood Cancer Foundation (CHOC) received a much-needed donation on 18 April from specialists in private practice.

The donation of R70 613.80 was reportedly made possible by generous gynaecologists who chose to donate their procedural fees to charity. The cheque was handed over by Next Biosciences on behalf of the doctors.

According to Catherine Brazier of Next Biosciences, the doctors donated their procedure fees that they made last year from Netcells Umbilical Cord Stem Cell Banking.

According to their website, Next Biosciences is a biotech company combining medicine, science and technology to create innovative products and services which empower people to invest in and take personal ownership of their future health.

Brazier explained that foundation is Next Biosciences’ chosen charity as their goals are closely aligned – keeping more than hope alive.

Zelda Jacobs of CHOC said they were very excited to receive this donation as they completely rely on companies and individual donors to keep going and doing the great work that they do.

The foundation is a countrywide non-profit organisation specifically established to provide holistic support for children suffering from cancer and life-threatening blood disorders, as well as to provide support to their families.
