Alexandra Police Cluster’s top brass conferred promotions to eight officers from the ranks of warrant officers to lieutenants and captains to majors.

The cluster comprises Alex, Sandton, Bramley, Sandringham and Midrand police stations.

The promotions were given at Alex Police Station by cluster commander, Major General Zodwa Molefe assisted by Brigadier Alan Billings, and colonels Nhluvuko Zondi, Gonaseelan Govender and Steven Moodley in recognition of the officers’ commendable contribution to the police service.

Alex police’s spokesperson, Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela said the promotions were a continuation of a similar process for other ranks late last year and was conducted periodically to recognise police officers’ long service and dedication to duty.
