ALEXANDRA - Lilian Dube aka Sister Betinah a famous character in popular TV series Soul City has urged couples to owe it to each for their health sake.

Actress Lilian Dube aka Sister Betinah, a famous character in the popular TV series Soul City, has urged couples to care for each other’s health.

Dube, who was speaking at the launch of a new health series programme, The Goodlife Network – Live It at Alex Clinic said, “The programme will be a historical continuation of health rights awareness campaign started 20 years ago [at Alex Clinic]. It will highlight related but preventable diseases which kill many in socially and economically depressed areas like Alexandra.”

A survivor of breast cancer, Dube said she had made it a personal crusade to help others beat the disease.

She urged couples to help each other in detecting cancer. “It involves men helping their female partners to check for signs of breast cancer regularly, and for women to feel for prostate and testicular cancer in their male counterparts by knowing the vital points to check,” she advised.

Dube also encouraged the community to use all medical facilities available to them on a more regular basis.
