International MBA tour returns to SA

JOBURG –With the likes of the renowned Columbia University present, this year’s Master of Business Administration (MBA) Tour saw potential MBA students exposed to a variety of business schools from across the world.

The tour took place in Sandton and saw 10 of some of the most prominent business schools engage with potential MBA students, as a way to recruit them to their institutions.

The educational tour also included a panel discussion with the various admissions directors who discussed how to prepare an application and some of the best ways to select the right institutions.

Michael Holliday, representing the University of British Columbia, chaired the discussion and elaborated on some factors to consider when finding a suitable place to study.

“It’s always important to consider the geography of the university and to do thorough research on the institution before contacting them,” he explained.

“Another thing would be to compare schools and select a good choice because it’s important to fit in at the institution where you hope to complete your MBA.”

The tour, in its fourth year, is aimed at providing prospective students free access to programme information, exposure to the various international business schools, and an opportunity to engage with admissions directors and alumni from these schools.

The Johannesburg leg of the tour also included representatives from the University of New Brunswick St John Campus in Canada, the University of St Gallen in Switzerland, and the University of Toronto in Canada.
