Riverpark Clinic nears completion

ALEXANDRA - Progress in the construction of the Riverpark Clinic is on track with the infrastructure nearing completion.

With construction of Riverpark Clinic in Alex on track and infrastructure nearly done, the clinic is scheduled to be completed on time.

The multi-million rand clinic will add to four other local health facilities in the township which struggle to cope with high demand and overcrowding.

John Pallet, foreman of the contracted company Solidaire Construction, said the construction work was on schedule, with buildings and roofing 60 percent complete.

“Thereafter, there will be landscaping and equipping of the facility,” said Pallet.

He added that the work also benefited local Small Micro and Medium Enterprises (SMMEs) and contributed to the local economy.

Risk assessment official for the company, Kidibone Shibambo, said when completed, the clinic will be a worthy asset which she hoped the community would protect. She added that they worked with about six SMMEs which acquired valuable experience to help them get other contracts and create employment for youths struggling to get income.
