The Xerox Golden Lions brought smiles to the pupils of Sefikeng Primary School during their visit when they hosted a rugby clinic as part of their Mandela Month celebrations.
The Lions visit to Sefikeng was in partnership with insurance broker and risk management company, Marsh Africa; and the British Council South Africa.
“It has been great working with the Lions so far, they are a huge presence in South African rugby,” said Tom Birtwitsle, deputy director at British Council South Africa.

Lions development coach Timmy Goodwin said the clinic was part of their developmental initiative. Lions players participating in the clinic included Dwayne Pienaar, Victor Sekekete and Bobby de Wee. Sekekete, who came through the Lions’ schools programme, was delighted to be giving back to the community.
“For us coming here and giving back to the kids is a good thing,” he said. “We want to build a great relationship with the community.”
