ALEXANDRA – Ellies Beauty Studio is offering unemployed youth from Alexandra the opportunity to study in the rapidly growing field of the beauty industry.

Ellies Beauty Studio is offering unemployed youth from Alexandra the opportunity to study a beauty profession and join a beauty skills programme which will see them empowered within the industry.

It is offering bursaries especially focused on women and will train students on nail technology and eyelash and hair extensions.

The bursary programme will be held at Sankopano Centre on a date still to be finalised, but registration for bursaries are now open until 30 September.

After completion of the course, aspiring beauticians are engaged in practical work within the studio while preparing to start their own businesses or building themselves up to acquire employment.

There are limited bursarie, so those interested need to act fast. “We are looking for hard-working individuals who have a passion for beauty, and we have no age restriction. These include dropouts and matriculants who are currently struggling to find work,” said a statement from the studio.

Those who complete the course stand a chance of being placed at other Ellies beauty branches or can start their own businesses under the mentorship of Elizabeth Nchabeng, the founder of the company.

Graduates are also referred to the National Youth Development Agency for entrepreneurship workshops, and also for those seeking funding and mentorship after completing the course.
